Acer Bay Trail 11.6-inch Chromebooks Hits in the UK starting at £199.99

er

Acer’s newest Chromebook, the Bay Trail model, is now available in the UK. After just becoming available in the US. Acer is going to be selling the Bay Trail model for just £199.99. Which isn’t a  bad price at all, especially considering the amount of power it holds. Very.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk both have the Bay Trail model up for sale for £199.99. The design of the Bay Trail model is very similar to the larger, Tegra K1 model that Acer announced just recently. Specs include 11.6-Inch LCD Display (1366 x 768), Intel Celeron N2840 @ 2.16GHz, 2GB RAM , 16GB eMMC Storage, Intel HD Graphics, Approx. 8.5-hour battery life.

The Acer Tegra K1 Chromebook, also known as the CB5 is on sale in the UK as well for just £219.99. Which is only £20 more than the Bay Trail one, but offers 13 hours of battery life, compared to the 8 hours here. Which for me, would make it worth the extra £20.

Acer’s got quite a few Chromebooks out there right now. They started with basically two configs of the C710 in 2012. And have now grown to about 4-5 different models of the C720, each of which have about 2-4 different configurations. There’s also the CB5 which is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra K1. Which is said to have some monster battery life compared to the other Chromebooks we’ve seen in the past. Acer is the main one making Chrome OS popular around here. As we do have other PC makers making Chromebooks like ASUS, HP, Toshiba and more. But Acer is the top selling one, and has the most variants for people to choose from. Because we do like choice.

So how many of our UK friends are going to be picking up the Acer Bay Trail Chromebook from Amazon, or Very? Let us know in the comments below.
