With Halloween upon us it looks like Amazon have decided to offer out selection of ghoulish goodies in the way of one of their ‘$100+ worth of apps for free’ promotions. The current promotion will last until November 1st and as you would expect contains a number of good apps, some mediocre and some which will be of no use to you. But either way they are free and can all be yours. As Amazon is doing this for Halloween all the apps on offer have a Halloween association with them. Amazon have broken down the apps into two groups, those which are creepy and those which are sweet.
So if you are in the mood for something ghoulish then on offer is a good variety of zombie and strange games. Up for grabs includes Plants Vs Zombies, Fruit Ninja (Ghostbusters edition), Zombie Gunship, Devil’s Attorney and a couple of creepy Hidden Object games. Personally, the Hidden Object (HO) games are my favorite type of freebie game and you should in particular check Weird Park: Scary Tales by Alawar. This is a great game by a top HO developer. If you are not feeling the creepiness of what’s on offer then don’t worry. Amazon have included a number of sweeter and cuter titles to satisfy your Halloween candy craving including Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (Part 1), Toca Town and Gods Vs Humans. There are also a few non-Halloween apps thrown into the mix including Boxer Pro (normally priced at $9.99), BeFunky Photo Editor and Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro. Of course, there is always Plex as well which is definitely worth a download and allows you to sync all media across all your devices. However, this has been offered free many times before in previous Amazon promotions and as such a lot of you will probably already have it. If you don’t, download it. This one’s worth it.
The apps are not region specific and as such should be available wherever you are and through your respective Amazon Appstore. If you are US based then you can click here to see the full list of free Halloween apps. For those based in the UK there click here for the UK full list of free apps. Strangely it seems the UK have one more app (41 in total) compared to what is on offer to the US (40 in total). Spooky. I wont tell you which one though, adds to the spookiness.
