NVIDIA’s SHIELD Tablet Gets Fresh OTA With Upgrade 1.2
If there’s one thing we like about NVIDIA it’s their refreshing approach to software updates, not only do they keep bug fixes coming thick and fast, but they also manage to keep up with Android updates pretty smoothly as well. When it comes to keeping track of these updates though, it couldn’t be any simpler. Mercifully, NVIDIA work in simple version numbers, unlike a lot of people who think letters make sense to average consumers. Nevertheless, Software Upgrade 1.2 is here for the SHIELD Tablet and the changelog below tells you all you need to know:

ASUS Update the ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 with Android 4.4 KitKat
ASUS is another brand known for their decent update schedule and their finally bringing the ZenFone line of devices up to Android 4.4 KitKat. They started with the ZenFone 4, and then moved on to the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6. While this is an update that’s been long coming, it’s always better to be late than never. If you haven’t received the update just yet, you can go ahead and drop ASUS a line, and you should also check out their support pages as well.
Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Getting Android 4.4.4 KitKat on Sprint
If you’re rocking a Galaxy S5 on Sprint and that .2 difference in version numbers with your friends has been getting you down, you’re in luck! Samsung’s support page now lists the latest software version for the Galaxy S5 on Sprint as G900PVPU1ANI4 which bumps things up from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4. THe update should have started a steady rollout by now, but if not just be patient. Below is the full changelog.

Nexus 7 (2013) LTE Model Finally Gets Android 4.4.4 Update
Earlier this week, Google finally got around to posting factory images for the Nexus 7 (2013), so there’s now a chance for ROM builders to make full ROMs for the 4G model of the Nexus 7 (2013) as well as a path back to the latest version should you have erm, gone a little too far in your adventures. As well as that though, an OTA of Android 4.4.4 also started rolling out this week, which is excellent news considering it’s taken them this long.
Sprint Updates the Kyocera Hydro Vibe to KitKat with WiFi Calling
Sprint has just snuck out one more software update for the week, as Android Police have noticed and it brings KitKat to the Kyocera Hydro Vibe, you know that waterproof phone? It’s carrying software version 2.033SP and the full changelog is below.
