Bentley and Vertu Team Up For Special Edition Smartphone

I always love it when British luxury smartphone maker, Vertu, teams up with another company to make a signature brand designer phone – nothing I could ever afford, but it is always fun to dream about having that much money.  If I was in the market for one of these luxury hybrids, I could not think of a better pairing than with the British maker of fine automobiles, Bentley.  What a combination – Vertu and Bentley – sounds like a match made in heaven.  Please look at the gallery below and notice the fine details of both the smartphone and the leather slip-on case – true beauty for the eye and a slight hit in the wallet…€12,500 which is about $15,905 in the U.S.

We must point out (of pride) that this expensive device is running Android 4.4 KitKat…none of this Windows crap.  This Vertu-Bentley smartphone, machined from titanium and meticulously hand-built features a 4.7-inch Full HD display carrying a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with a full 473 pixels-per-inch (PPI) and is protected by a sapphire crystal cover.  Processing power comes from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and comes with 64GB of internal storage capacity to store photos, videos or music files – and of course important work related files.

For taking those photographs, the device is packing a 13MP main camera with auto focus and a dual-LED flash.  The smaller, front-facing camera (FFC) is sporting 2.1MP for those important video chats or selfies.  Continuing with the entertainments side, the device has Stereo high-fidelity 11mm x 15mm loudspeakers with Dolby Digital Plus surround sound.  It also comes with A-GPS, a Compass, Gyro, Accelerometer and even Qi Compatible Wireless Charging.  Powering the entire smartphone is a 2275mAh battery designed for up to 15 hours and 30 minutes of talk-time (WCDMA) or up to 380 hours of standby.

It can handle Quadband GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz – WCDMA Bands I, II, IV, V, VIII – LTE Bands# 1-5, 7, 8, 17, 20 & 25.  It has dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0+LE, 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC support, and a microUSB connector.  The smartphone comes with a few of Vertu’s own applications, as well as all of the Google family of services.  You also get a calculator, calendar, clock, movie studio, music+ and much more.  The leather slip case, a stereo headset, microUSB cable, wall charger, a NanoSIM card adapter and even a polishing cloth comes along for your $16,000.
