Gigabyte Announces the GSmart Mika M3, A Mid-Range Handset For The Greek Market

You’ve all probably heard of Gigabyte, this company’s main business is manufacturing and selling computer hardware. Some of you probably had Gigabyte’s mainboard in your PC at some point or something, I know I did. This Taiwanese company actually also makes smartphones, in case you didn’t know. They sell like crazy where I live considering their prices are extremely low and they’re actually not bad at all, they have solid specifications and run fine all around. Those devices, usually, have MediaTek chips on the inside, though that doesn’t have to be a bad thing of course. Anyhow, this company just announced a new device for the Greek market, at least that’s the information we have at this moment, it seems it only sells in Greece for the time being. Let’s see what’s it all about.

This handset is called GSmart Mika M3, GSmart is actually Gigabyte’s Android smartphone line and they have tons of devices out on the market already. GSmart Mika M3 is a mid-range offering from Gigabyte. This device features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS LCD display along with 1GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card). This handset is powered by an unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, though this is certainly a MediaTek chip. On the back of this smartphone, you’ll find a 13-megapixel camera flanked by an LED flash while there’s an 8-megapixel shooter up front. 1900mAh battery is included in the package and Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device. One thing to keep in mind is that Gigabyte doesn’t skin Android all that much, all they do is include a few of their own apps on it, like software update apps and such, that’s it, at least on the devices I’ve handled in the past. This is a 3G HSPA+ device, it doesn’t offer 4G LTE connectivity but it does offer Dual SIM dual standby though.

Gigabyte still didn’t release the price of this handset, but considering its specifications and Gigabyte’s pricing thus far, this will be an extremely affordable smartphone for basically anyone’s pocket.
