HTC Desire 612 Making its way to Verizon on October 9th

Here’s another Desire coming to the US. This time it’s the HTC Desire 612 and it’s coming to big red. It’ll be available from Verizon on Thursday, October 9th. We’re not looking at a high-end device here with the Desire 612, but we never really are when we look at the Desire lineup. We’re looking at a 4.7-inch 1280×720 HD display here with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. No word on RAM, but it’ll likely be 1.5GB. There’s 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB of space. It’s powered by a 2040mAh battery as well as Android 4.4.4 KitKat and Sense 6.0 on top. There’s a 8MP camera on the back with a 1.3MP front-facing camera here.

“The HTC Desire 612 is XLTE-ready, so users can expect faster peak speeds and greater network capacity in cities coast to coast where XLTE has been rolled out. And front facing speakers really come in handy with the NFL Mobile app. Customers on The MORE Everything Plan get NFL Mobile for the entire 2014/2015 NFL season, including access to live streaming games and NFL Network 24/7, on their smartphone at no additional cost.”

The HTC Desire 612 will be available on October 9th for free on a new contract. No word on off-contract pricing, but we’re probably looking at somewhere in the $300-450 range here. With Verizon’s MORE Everything plans, you can get an extra gigabyte of data on your plan as well, at no extra charge. And that is good for the life of the device on your line. So if you decide to sell it later on, then you’ll lose that extra data.

We’re going to try and get our hands on the HTC Desire 612 and see how great it really is. For a mid-range device, it sounds pretty good, but we’ll need to see it in action.
