Lenovo's A850+ Is Available In China For As Low As 699 Yuan On Amazon.cn

MediaTek is releasing a ton of processors late. Some of them are really good, others however, not so much. These chips are usually really affordable and that’s why more and more manufacturers are using them, even manufacturers outside of China. Qualcomm is still a force to be reckoned with when it comes to mobile chips, considering their Snapdragon processors are regarded by many as the most powerful mobile chips out at the moment. MediaTek, Samsung (Exynos) and Huawei (Kirin) are getting some traction though while Nvidia is also trying to join the race with their Tegra K1 chips. We all know that Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chips weren’t exactly the best out there.

One of the companies using processors made by MediaTek is Lenovo. This Chinese tech giant is doing great in the PC marke, though they still need to make a serious push in the smartphone market if they want to play with the likes of Samsung and Apple. They’re doing fine, but I believe that the company wants more recognition around the world when it comes to the smartphone market. The recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility will surely help them get there. We’re here to talk about Lenovo though, Lenovo A850+ to be more exact. This detvice is now priced at 699 Yuan ($113), which is significantly lower than the price tag it had at launch, which was 999 Yuan I believe.

Lenovo A850+ is an octa-core device, MediaTek’s MT6592M chip clocked at 1.4GHz is powering this device along with Mali-450 GPU. The device comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 32GB). On the front of the device, you can find a 5.5-inch 960 x 540 display along with the usual array of sensors and a VGA front-facing shooter. 5-megapixel camera is located at the back of this device as well as a LED flash. The device has a 2500mAh battery built-in and it comes with Android 4.2.2 pre-installed though it can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat according to the source.

This device is available all over the world, Amazon is just one of the stores which carry this device. It is available for 699 Yuan at Amazon.cn while the price internationally (at Amazon) is somewhat higher, goes for around $139 (855 Yuan). I believe this is not a bad offering at a said price, though the internal storage might be an issue for some people and the display is somewhat huge for the resolution it carries.
