LG is an interesting company because, ever since the launch of the LG G3 this summer, all of their devices have been look-alikes with different specifications and details.And this time, the LG F490L, or Liger, is doing much the same. But it has something special inside. And now, we know almost everything about this device that still has yet to be acknowledged by the South Korean manufacturer.
Today, we got a look at a lengthy hands-on with the device, in photo form, and a good look at the internals of the handset as well. First big difference and most obvious uniqueness to the Liger is the 5.9-inch 1080p display, as compared to the G3’s 2560 by 1440, QuadHD display which is 5.5 inches diagonally. Not everyone wants a bunch of pixels, but some want a big screen to use as well. Next we’ll take the processor. It’s not Exynos, MediaTek, Snapdragon, or anything we’ve heard any large amount about; it’s LG’s own Odin chipset, which is a, octa-core setup, with (reportedly) four at 1.5 Ghz and four at 1.2 Ghz. This Odin set has 2 GB of RAM to smooth out the performance of LG’s minimalistic and flat skin over top of Android 4.4.4, Kit Kat.
We also know that the device is going to have 16 and 32 GB internal storage options. The camera will sit proudly at 13 megapixels, with LG’s signature laser autofocus, but optical image stabilisation. It will also reportedly be called the LG G3 Screen, so we’ll have to wait and see how that rolls out to consumers.
