Microsoft has slowly but surely been making its presence more known on Android. Something that was a smart move given their hunger to branch out and expand past the world of Windows and Windows phone. Microsoft has a growing list of apps and services available to users on Android devices like OneDrive, OneNote, Microsoft Office Mobile, Microsoft Remote Desktop, Microsoft Account, Outlook Web App and others. What might be one of the most used services they offer on Android could be OneDrive, as cloud storage has been an increasingly popular way to store and transfer files between devices. Microsoft might have just done something that could increase their subscriber base for Office 365 too however.
As of today Microsoft has just announced that any users who subscribe to Microsoft Office 365 service, will get unlimited cloud storage access at no additional cost on top of their existing monthly fee access for Office 365 itself. That’s right, unlimited cloud storage for free. Seeing as how Office 365 subscriptions start just $6.99 a month, you can spend less than it takes to have 1TB of space with Google Drive. Although $9.99 a month isn’t bad for 1TB of space if you’re someone who really needs all that storage in the cloud, $6.99 a month is cheaper, and you get access to a full office service of apps along with unlimited cloud storage. That’s hard to beat.
As stated by Microsoft, any Office 365 subscribers will get the unlimited storage, this means that Personal, Home, and University subs are all included. Further, this is a cloud storage app after all, and Microsoft isn’t limiting users to what they can store in OneDrive via the unlimited space. Pick what you want to save and store away. It’s worth noting that Microsoft has started implementing the unlimited storage now, but they also stated that it will continue to roll out over the coming months, which means that not everyone will have access to it immediately. You can however make sure you get the unlimited access as soon as possible by going to this link, and essentially signing yourself up by getting on the list for the upgraded service feature. You can pick up the Android version of OneDrive through the Play Store.
