Motorola DROID Turbo Appears on Verizon Test Page Before Official Launch

Later on today, Verizon is expected to launch the latest in its long line of DROID devices, and while we’ve seen it leak out before, this is our first official sneak peek at the device. Some enterprising folks have spotted the DROID Turbo on Verizon’s Testman page, a testing site for the company, with the new smartphone taking center stage on the ticker at the top of the page. With it appearing here just a few hours before it’s officially announced, it’s safe to say that means the DROID Turbo is officially, official. This year’s DROID is dubbed ‘Turbo’ and as leaked specs – and now a few specs from this leaked page – have suggested before, this DROID might finally live up to its name.

According to this test page, the DROID Turbo is to come packing a 2.7 Ghz Quad-Core processor, which certainly sounds a lot like the high-clocked Snapdragon 805 that we’ve been hearing about. As well as that, the test page lists a “48-hour battery life” and “turbo charging”. While long lasting battery life has been a hallmark of the DROID line, often in the “MAXX” variants, turbo charging is a new addition and should work similarly to how it does in the Moto X (2014), with users able to charge their devices in a hurry and get a good few hours of battery life in a matter of minutes. Other specs that we’re expecting are a Quad HD display, that’s 2560 x 1440 folks, and the usual slew of voice control features we’ve come to expect from Motorola. With 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage also pegged for a reveal later today, this is shaping up to be the DROID you really were looking for.

Our own Alex Maxham will be at Verizon’s event in NYC later today and we’ll have all the news from Motorola’s and Verizon’s latest creation, so stay tuned!
