The Motorola Moto 360 has Arrived in Canada

The elusive Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch has finally made its way to Canada after being announced back in March. Customers in the he U.S. were able to purchase it in September  – Motorola Canada certainly confirmed it was coming at the end of this month…and you cannot get any closer to the end of the month than the 31st!  The Moto 360 smartwatch is available on TELUS today and through Future Shops for a cool $279 with you choice of Black or Grey.

It is never fun to wait for the arrival of a new device – we always want things now – but the time spent waiting means that the Moto 360 will yield no surprises…in fact, you may actually be getting a better device than the first recipients.  There are always bugs in the first release and Canadians will be the benefactor of any upgrades or fixes by Motorola.  By now, you also know a little more about Android Wear, how it works and what to expect.

The Moto 360 smartwatch is 46mm in diameter, 11.5mm thick and weighs in at 49 grams.  It has an IPS LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels, that is both bright and very easy to see outdoors compared to the LG Watch.  It uses a TI OMAP 3 processor – taking a different route than the others that are using a Qualcomm processor – with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.  It has a 320mAh battery that should easily get you through the day and it comes with Qi Wireless charging – simply place it on any Qi charger and you can get yourself a charge.  This is unlike the LG G Watch and G Watch R that use magnetic cradles and the Samsung Gear Live that uses a snap on cradle…the Moto 360 just makes charging easier.

The Moto 360 uses Bluetooth 4.0, is IP67 certified for water resistance and you can use interchangeable bands…even metal.  It packs a pedometer, optical heart rate sensor and accelerometer.  I guess we should mention that the Moto 360 is first and foremost a timepiece – it is a beautiful looking watch that just happens to be a smartwatch – and that may be its highest praise.  So far, the Moto 360 is the nicest looking smartwatch and also one of the more expensive ones as well.

Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you intend on getting the new Moto 360, or at least going to look at one…as always, we would love to hear from you.
