If you thought that America had the highest number of Google Glass owners think again. According to a new study recently conducted, India has the second highest number of Google Glass owners in the world by 6 percent. Who’s taking the number one leading in most Google Glass owners right now? Well the home of our favorite Electronics company, South Korea paves the way with 8 percent. The fun facts don’t stop here, it has also been said that India has emerged as one of the most tech-savvy nations with 95 percent of Indians finding smartphones critically important in their daily lives. From that 95 percent you have about 75 percent using their smartphone or tablet for online bookings, according to a survey by Expedia.
According to Vikram Malhi, MD, Asia, of Expedia, “The findings clearly suggest an increasing dependency on the mobile platform. Ninety five per cent Indian respondents feel that their smartphone is very or of critical importance to their daily life,” Malhi later added that Indians lead in app booking and data roaming plans globally. It seems that mobile technology dependency has gotten extremely big in the country of India. Our surveys don’t stop there, they continue to add that India has the highest number of smartwatch owners globally! The numbers show that 18 percent of Indians own and using a smartwatch. In addition it has also been reported that 85 percent of Indians own a laptop. That 18 percent ranks India at number fourth in the world after Denmark which has a large 89 percent, Austria with just 86 percent, and Norway coming in at the same with 86 percent.
Its quite amazing to see where technology has gone in these past years. Out need for smartphones and now wearables have risen and in our foreseeable future, will more than likely rise. The numbers from the survey we just talked about tell us that the rise and dependency on technology has gone through the roof. Whether this is good or bad, we won’t know until we progress further.
