Earlier this month, Google announced two Nexus devices, a new tablet and a new smartphone. For many, the smartphone side of this 1, 2 Punch has been a pretty divisive device, is it too big, is it too expensive? While we’ll obviously have to wait until our full review to answer these questions in full, we’ve been given the chance to take a sneak peek at both the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9 before they start shipping to everyone else. In New York City, Google held an event showcasing their new Nexus devices, and in true Google fashion there was a lot of color and yes, a whole bunch of Lollipops on hand as well.
We’ve not had enough time spent with the Nexus 6 just yet, but we can say that it doesn’t feel as large as its 5.9-inch Quad HD display would suggest and yes, there’s a lot of the Moto X (2014) about this year’s Nexus smartphone. Which is to say that it’s extremely well-built and also very light, not unlike last year’s Nexus 5. As for software, well, we’re going to spend some time with these devices and Android 5.0 Lollipop itself, so stay tuned for more on the exclusive Nexus 6 features and Lollipop in general.
For a large-screen device, the Nexus 6 has some nice look and feel about it and as you can in the gallery below, it doesn’t look too ridiculous in our hands. You can take a look at the photos in the gallery below, and we’ll be sure to have more content on the Nexus 6 in the coming days and weeks, so keep an eye on the site!
