Press Renders of the Galaxy A5 Appear in Latest Leak

It looks like Samsung is up to something, with the smart money being on a new line of devices built in the image of the original Galaxy Alpha. We’ve heard device names like the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 for quite a while now and we’ve seen a lot of the Galaxy A5 in particular, with leaked shots of the device booting up and being handled out in the wild. The word on the street is that these devices will be built with the design philosophy of the Galaxy Alpha in mind, with aluminum being used for the body’s frame and a similar, more modern design used for the overall look and feel of the device.

In recent weeks, we’ve seen the Galaxy A5 in the wild and it looks to be a larger version of the Galaxy Alpha, which is presumably where the ‘Galaxy A’ moniker has come from. Now though, PhoneArena have gotten their hands on what look to be pretty much final press renders of the Galaxy A5. Typically, press renders from Samsung are often presented in the same sort of style, with the devices shown in the same sort of angles and often with two devices together. These leaked renders look just like the ones that we had access to as press for the Galaxy Alpha, the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge, so it really wouldn’t surprise us if this were indeed final press renders. Of course, there’s always a chance that these are elaborate fakes, but with functioning devices appearing in the wild it sure looks like Samsung is up to something. 

Much like before, the Galaxy A5 is set to be all business on the outside, but more of a mid-ranger on the in. With a Snapdragon 400, 2GB of RAM and a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, it’s clear that Samsung doesn’t want to cannibalize their Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lines just yet. With rumored measurements of 5.48 x 2.74 x 0.26 inches (139.3 x 69.7 x 6.7 mm) it seems that Samsung has managed to keep things fairly stylish here as well, with things being nice and slim to boot. Overall though, the Galaxy A5 is a device that could hit shelves a lot sooner than we first thought.
