Samsung recently announced two new members of their Galaxy family, Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5. We’ve been seeing tons of leaks and rumors when it comes to these two devices and now they’re finally official. Both of them sport a metal unibody construction and look rather sleek. Anyhow, we’re here to take a look at Galaxy A3’s specs, so let’s do that.

Samsung Galaxy A3 is powered by a quad-core chip (Samsung didn’t share the details here) clocked at 1.2GHz. On the back of the device you’ll find an 8-megapixel AF camera which is flanked by an LED flash while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper on the front side of this handset for your selfie needs and what not.

As far as connectivity goes, this device is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE, ANT+), NFC (only in LTE version of the phone) and A-GPS / GLONASS. Talking about networks, there are two versions of the device, the 3G version and a 4G LTE version: 3G: HSPA+ 42.2/5.76Mbps ; 4G: LTE Cat4 (150/50Mbps). The device comes equipped with a 1,900mAh battery and it comes with the following array of sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Geo-magnetic, RGB ambient light and a Hall Sensor.

As far as software is concerned, Samsung Galaxy A3 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed along with Samsung’s own skin on top of it. The device brings along a ton of software features like Ultra Power Saving Mode and Changeable Theme (Natural, Classic, Casual, Romantic) which will vary by market. Wide Selfie, Rear-cam Selfie and Beauty Face Features are included as part of Galaxy A3’s camera software. The device measures 130.1 x 65.5 x 6.9mm while it weighs 110.3 grams.

Samsung Galaxy A3 will be available starting November in select markets, China included. The handset will be available in Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver, Soft Pink, Light Blue and Champagne Gold color options. Samsung didn’t give us any information regarding the pricing of this handset just yet nor the exact launch dates. Hopefully, we’ll get more details when it comes to availability of this handset as well as its pricing.
