Samsung loves to sell many models of smartphones – all specifications, from flagship to mid-range to low-end. One of their newer smartphones is a mid-level device called the Galaxy Core LTE, which we reported earlier this month was available on Rogers, Videotron and Fido…we now can say that regional carrier, Eastlink, has announced that the Galaxy Core LTE is now available on their network for $0 with EasyTab or $288 no-term. The Galaxy Core LTE is a great fit for those that cannot afford or just don’t want to spend the money on a Galaxy S5. It has the “Samsung Galaxy” look and is a nice looking, solid device…great for school age kids or older adults can use it in the Easy Mode to help move them from their old flip-phone to their first smartphone.
The Galaxy Core LTE has a 4.5-inch qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 with about 245 pixels-per-inch (PPI) – one thing to note…the Core LTE uses the TFT LCD technology rather than their usual Super AMOLED technology. It uses a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can easily be expanded an additional 64GB via a microSD card…allowing you to store all of those pictures, videos or songs right on your device. Speaking of photos, it uses a 5MP main camera with auto focus and an LED Flash. The front-facing camera (FFC) is only a VGA, but good enough for a quick selfie for social media. The Galaxy Core LTE even sports a built-in FM radio, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP, NFC and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and measures in at 132.9 x 66.3 x 9.8mm and weighs in at 137 grams.
Eastlink has also announced that they will be carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. As usual, no exact date was given, but more than likely, it will be the same time later this month as all of the other usual suspects – Rogers, Bell, Telus, Sasktel, Videotron, WIND Mobile, MTS and Koodo Mobile. Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you will be picking up the new Samsung Galaxy Core LTE or if you will be waiting for the new Galaxy Note 4…as always, we would love to hear from you.
