Sony Xperia M2 Aqua at Videotron October 2

When someone thinks of Sony, two words come to mind – quality and expensive – and in most cases, you would be correct in your assumption.  Honestly, though, Sony does make some great mid-range smartphones that offer considerable features for the money.  One such device is their new Xperia M2 Aqua smartphone, which is essentially an Xperia M2 that launched earlier this year, but has been waterproofed.

The Xperia M2 Aqua should be rolling in to Canada on October 2 and so far we know that regional carrier Videotron will be carrying the device…it is certainly reasonable to assume that Rogers, Bell, Fido and others will carry the M2 Aqua as well.  Our source tells us it will cost you $0 on a two-year term at Videotron as long as you are on a plan that costs $49.95 or higher.  On a no-term but it should be around $250 – $300.

The Xperia M2 Aqua comes with a 4.8-inch qHD IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 480 pixels and 230 pixels-per-inch (PPI).  It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage.  It comes with a reliable Sony 8PM camera with a dedicated camera key on the side of the device…it has an Exmor RS sensor, as well as HDR, SteadyShot and more and a 1.1MP front-facing camera (FFC) for video chats and selfies.  A 2300mAh battery powers the entire smartphone to make the device last the entire day.

The Xperia M2 Aqua is fully IP65/IP68 certified from dust and water, so take it swimming with you and film away – a great camera for parties, fishing and vacations.  At 140 x 72 x 8.6mm and weighing only 146 grams, it’s a more manageable size to take with you anywhere.  It packs mono speakers with Clear Audio+ – sound improvement software, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, GPS and Wi-Fi.  It runs GSM (2G), HSPA (3G) and LTE (4G) and is loaded with 4.4 KitKat.

Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is the type of smartphone that you are looking for…as always, we would love to hear from you.
