Over the last few weeks there have been a number of big name launches and high-end devices released. With so much going on it’s easy to miss out on certain devices. One device you certainly should take the time to get to know is Sony’s latest flagship device, the Xperia Z3. The Z3 was released along its smaller sibling, the Xperia Z3 Compact and also its tablet incarnation, the Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet. The Z3 itself surprised many when it was released as it came hot on the heels of the Z2 which was only released early in 2014. To be honest there are a lot of similarities between the Z3 and Z2 but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the Z3 both inside and out.
In terms of the specs you get a 5.2″ IPS LCD display which comes with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside the Z3 offers 3GB RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor (clocks at 2.5GHz). The device is camera-strong offering a 20.7MP rear camera along with 2.2.MP front shooter. The Z3 is available in both 16 and 32GB variants and also comes with the standard additional microSD card slot. However one of the most notable features is the battery which consists of 3100mAh battery. Although that sounds rather typical of the other flagships available it is worth noting that in recent battery tests the Z3 blew the competition away. Which takes me to the next point.
It seems the Z3 is as clean and well maintained inside as it is outside. A recent teardown by Ewisetech shows the Z3 from completion reverse-engineered back down to its components. From the pictures, the device seems to adopt a similar design to the Z2 offering a modular-style build with components working in a plug-and-play layout. This immediately highlights the Z3 will be rather user-friendly in terms of repairs compared to other devices. The images show the components inside largely consist of Qualcomm bits and pieces and overall the design of the phone is extremely clean and well thought out. This again further highlights Sony have taken the build (both inside and out) seriously creating an overall great phone. I guess this just adds to the constantly expanding reasons why you should buy the Z3.
