Description: BallMore is an arcade style physics game for Android that has you controlling a mole that loves to play with his basketball. The aim of each level is to help him get his ball through the hoop, but this is easier said than done. Bopping the mole’s head to throw the ball up into the air is nice and simple, but you need to tilt your device to either side in order to get the ball into the basket. Each set of levels has a different theme to it and there are a lot of different levels on offer, each with a different layout as well as different obstacles to avoid. How it Works: All you need to do to get started is to download BallMole from the Play Store and then you’re ready to go.
The first ‘season’ is set in the Jungle and there are a number of different levels in each and every season, just go ahead and select one and you’re ready to start playing.
If this is your first time playing, ten you’ll be given a nice introduction into how to play the game, which is really nice and simple.
Getting our friendly mole to push the ball into the air is nice and simple, but tilting your device to guide the ball takes some practice.
You’ve got to get the ball into the basketball hoop, which requires you to dodge all obstacles, like the spikes that come in later levels, and the quicker you do it, the more points you’re awarded for completing the level.
BallMole will give you a score when you’ve got the ball through the hoop, and as you progress through the levels, they’re get a lot harder.
This is just the Jungle levels, if you like the look of BallMole, there’s much more on offer in the different levels.
Opinion: On the face of things, BallMole is an incredibly simple game, and it is when you take into account how few mechanics the game actually relies on, but it is a good deal of fun. It’s deceptively challenging, with it being more difficult than you first might imagine, as it takes quite a bit of time to get used to the tilt mechanic, as the ball flies into the air quite quickly, it’s difficult to gauge when to tilt and by how much. Learning how to beat this system was most of the fun I had with the game and it’s certainly a nice, accessible mechanic for a game like this to have. Overall though, I did want to see more from BallMole, but there are a lot of levels on offer.

- Speed (4/5) – No complaint here, BallMole ran just fine on a good handful of devices.
- Features (4/5) – While it is a little light on the mechanics, the gameplay is challenging and will appeal to those of all ages, which is a nice touch.
- Theme (4/5) – Colorful and bright, the cartoon style of BallMole is a lot of fun and there’s no issues using it on a tablet, either.
- Overall (4/5) – A simple game that might appeal to younger audiences more than adults, BallMole is simple, easy to get into and a good deal of fun.

- BallMole is really simple to get into, making this a good game for younger players as well as more casual gamers.
- Lots of levels beyond the Jungle ones for players to explore and see how they shape up.
- Nice use of the accelerometer found in today’s smartphones and tablets.
- Good game for a quick play here and there, breaking up boring commutes and waiting times.
Cons
- Doesn’t offer much that can’t be found in other games on the Play Store.
- Tilt mechanic is really quite difficult to get used to.
Conclusion: As a free game, there’s more than enough on offer with BallMole and if you were looking for a little bit of fun without having to get too involved in it, then BallMole is a decent option. It’s great for kids, works well for bite-sized gameplay and doesn’t ask too much of its players – what more could you want?
