Description: Bang Bang! Stunt Bike Racing is an Android game that aims to recreate the daredevil activities of professional stuntmen on your Android smartphone or tablet. There are 30 levels to play through and they all feature a variety of different ramps, jumps, obstacles to fly over and more. With 3D graphics both in the foreground and the background, Bang Bang! looks like it could be one of the more exciting motorbike games to hit Android in quite some times. To find out if it is or not, read on as we take a close look at what makes Bang Bang! so explosive.
How it Works: First of all, you’ll need to download Bang Bang! Stunt Bike Racing from the Play Store. Once you’ve done that you can go ahead and choose to play through your first level.
The controls are explained to you before you hit the gas and they’re really not that difficult to follow, but the accelerometer controls did take me some time to get used to.
Things start off fairly smooth for each level, but it won’t be long until you’re taking your first jump through the air. One thing I liked straight away about Bang Bang! was that the background was 3D as well and felt like it was a part of the game from the beginning, rather than an afterthought as it is so often in these games.
As you head on up into the skies, you’ll end up landing on different obstacles that are arranged at different heights throughout the levels.
You’ll have to try your best to both collect as many coins as you can and also to make sure you actually land on the ramps you’re supposed to, this is easier said than done, by the way.
Try not to crash either, as this will end your current run.
There are 30 different levels to charge through and the ability to upgrade your ride too if you want, so there’s a good deal of content available here.
Opinion: I’ve played a great many of these sort of games over the years and while they all follow the same sort of premise, Bang Bang! has at least one good thing going for it; the background and levels all look pretty good. I was a little unsure as to why our biker friend always seemed to be stood up on the bike, but the ramps, coins, bakground buildings and more are all in 3D which is pretty nice to see. Sadly, the game didn’t run all that well for me on a number of high-end devices, but I assume this will be fixed in coming updates as the developers do seem fairly active which is a good sign. All-in-all, there’s a lot to like about Bang Bang! and if you enjoy these types of games and are looking for one more with something a little different about it, then this won’t disappoint you.
Ratings
- Speed (3.5/5) – I’m not sure why, but Bang Bang! didn’t run as smoothly as I thought it would on devices with the latest processors.
- Features (4/5) – As motorbike games go, Bang Bang! ticks all of the right boxes, and there are lots of different obstacles and 30 levels to challenge yourself with.
- Theme (4/5) – With 3D backgrounds as well as other 3D asset there’s clearly some effort been put into the level design here, and it all looks fairly good.
- Overall (4/5) – A solid stunt game that offers some cool tricks, interesting ramp configurations and more all for free, there’s not too much to complain about here.
Pros
- 3D graphics help bring the game alive, as well as creating a sort of scale between the ramps and such.
- Works well on tablets as well as smartphones.
- Easy controls to master make this game easily accessible and one for all ages.
- Collecting coins as you go adds another dynamic to the game and works well.
Cons
- Didn’t run as smoothly as I thought it should.
- Accelerometer controls are fairly difficult to get to grips with, sadly.
Conclusion: Overall, this is a game that will appeal to all ages and it’s not hard to see why; it’s got good-looking graphics, it’s easy to play and it’s full of high-speed action for motorbike and stunt fans. I do wish that the game ran a little better, but with so many Android devices out there it can be difficult. The ads are a sore point as well, but they’re not all that bad. One thing’s certain though; Bang Bang! is a game that’s packed full of action and it’s certainly a lot of fun without asking too much from players.
