Ventev To Be Among First To Release U.L. Certified Quick Charge 2.0 Chargers

With all the new Android devices that have been announced recently, it’s clear that battery life is a very big selling point now. What’s the point of having a beautiful QHD display, or a 21 megapixel camera if your battery is running out all the time? The obvious solution is higher capacity batteries. The issue with these high-capacity batteries is that they take much longer to charge. This is where Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 standard comes in. Devices featuring this technology can reach a full charge up to 75% faster than normal. If you own an Android smartphone or tablet that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 standard and are looking for a new one, maybe you lost your old one, the dog ate it, it simply stopped working, or maybe your phone didn’t even come with one, like the HTC One M8 when it first came out. No matter what your reasons may be, mobile accessory manufacturer Ventev hopes to meet your needs with two new chargers supporting the standard this November. Ventev, a subsidiary of Tessco Technologies, Inc. offers a wide variety of smartphone accessories including cables, cases, chargers, headphones, styluses, and more.

The first charger we will mention is the wallport q1200. The slate grey charger features folding prongs for portability and a single illuminated USB port at the bottom. The charger is universal, supporting 100-240V DC. Ventev states that the wallport charger, rated for up to 2.1A, will be compatible with all devices equipped with the Snapdragon 800 chipset or higher, provided that the software supports it. If you happen to have an older device, this charger also provides full backwards compatibility with the Quick Charge 1.0 standard, which still offers a noticeable improvement in charging speed over conventional charging methods.

The second charger announced by Ventev is the dashport q1200 mobile charger to go along with the wall charger. The dashport shares the same design cues as the wallport, with the same slate grey finish and orange lettering. It also features a single illuminated USB port and works with the same range of devices as the wall charger. Both chargers offer up to 75% faster charging over conventional chargers when using Quick Charge 2.0 compatible devices. They will also both include detachable Micro USB cables. Look for these chargers to be available in early November for $34.99 each.
