We didn’t hear much from Alcatel lately, though the company did release a couple of smartphones and tablets recently. This French smartphone manufacturer seems focused on low-mid range handsets and tablets. This French company just launched one handset which fits in that mid-range category, they launched it in India. I’m talking about One Touch Flash handset which sports a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz which comes along with Mali 450 GPU for graphics processing. On the back of this smartphone, you’ll find a 13-megapixel AF camera with LED flash while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter up front. This handset ships with Android 4.4 KitKat and is a dual-SIM device. Wi-FI 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and Bluetooth 4.0 are all included here and the phone ships with a 3200mAh battery. Alcatel One Touch Flash measures 152.1 x 76.2 x 8.1mm and weighs 150 grams.
“FLASH is our Latest innovative Phone on E Commerce Platform along with our strategic Partner Flipkart. FLASH is built truly for selfie fans with 2 key points – a good resolution front facing camera that also has the Beauty Selfie to enhance the user’s photo without the need of any extra application.” said Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, APAC. Flipkart also had something to say. “We continue to add to the range of world-class technology products available on Flipkart for our customers. Today, we are delighted to add one more device from Alcatel to our extensive mobile portfolio. With its new age design and technology, we are positive that the Alcatel One touch Flash will be well received in the market.” added Michael Adnani, VP – Retail & Head – Brand Alliances.
The Alcatel One Touch Flash will be available in India starting November 21st in Crystal White and Gun Grey colors for INR 9,999 ($161). India has an extremely competitive market as far as smartphones go, Android One, Xiaomi, Motorola and a ton of other manufacturers sell really compelling devices over there. I believe that Alcatel will have a hard time selling enough of these devices, but if you’re interested in getting one of them, visit Flipkart on November 21st.
