Amazon’s Fire TV Gets Yet Another Update
The Fire TV is getting a nifty little update this week – to version 51.1.4.0_user_514006420 – that allows you to play Tablet games using your gamepad on your TV. Which basically means you now have access to even more games on your Fire TV. There’s a little more to this update and below is the full changelog:

The device doesn’t have to be registered to the same Amazon account as the Amazon Fire TV. To learn more, go toUse Amazon Fire TV as a Display Mirroring Destination.

Sony Xperia T3 Update Rolls Out in Europe
One of Sony’s less remarkable devices is getting a fairly routine update this week to software version 18.1.A.1.23, which is a very small change in the version numbers so don’t go expecting anything huge. This appears to be an update to fix the reboot bug that some were experiencing on GSM networks. It seems as of right now, the update is rolling out in Greece, Croatia, Poland and Germany.
Fire OS 4 to Hit Older Kindle Fire Tablets
For those with older Kindle Fire or Fire HDX tablets running Amazon’s Fire OS, version 4 is on its way to your tablet and should bring a number of fresh features to your device. It adds a new immersive mode found in Android 4.4 KitKat, which allows apps and games to go full screen and overall this is just another refinement of the Kindle Fire’s software. The software version is Fire OS 4.1.1 and you should get the update pushed to your device very soon. For more information about Fire OS 4 “Sangria” take a look at Amazon’s site here.
Android 4.4.4 Rolling Out to the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet
As we covered earlier in the week, Sony have rolled out their Android 4.4.4 update to the Xperia Z2 line with the software number of 23.0.1.A.0.167. This update features a slew of new Xperia Z3 features, including tuned presets for a number of different Sony headphones as well as PS4 Remote Play. It’s a great update to have and practically turns an Xperia Z2 into a Z3, so read more about it here. Sadly, this one requires the PC Companion to install.
NVIDIA SHIELD PORTABLE GETS UPDATE 99
NVIDIA’s original foray into the portable console game is nearing its hundredth update this week, with the 408MB Update 99 improving a handful of things. Here’s the full changelog:
Improves battery drain when SHIELD portable lid is closed
Updates the latest SHIELD hub app available on Google Play Store
Fixes a bug that does not allow videos to be played from Facebook, using Browser or Chrome, or on the YouTube app
Fixes a bug to enable support for 4K content in Console Mode
