LG seems to be working hard in order to deliver the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its devices, primarily the LG G3, company’s current flagship handset. We’ve seen LG’s German Facebook page teasing the update and mentioning something about a Q4 release, which would mean the G3 will get the update before the end of this year. LG’s official Polish blog released a bunch of screenshots yesterday in order to tease us further and now we get yet another batch of screenshots, this time they arrive from Vietnam. You can check out the screenshots down below if you’d like. As you can see, LG’s current UI actually goes hand-in-hand with the Material Design look of the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Those pastel colors are somewhat present on both ends, though they’re way more pronounced in LG’s UI in its latest version. Actually I wouldn’t say the colors on Android 5.0 Lollipop are washed out, but… well, origami-like. I don’t know how good of a comparison that is, but they just seem alive, and LG definitely improved its washed out tones already, as you can see in the screenshots down below. LG’s UI seems a bit more alive to me and that’s a good thing, but not many things have changed as far as looks go, though it seems LG is in the middle of implementing Lollipop’s features in its UI.
Talking about the G3, LG’s current flagship features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) IPS LCD display along with 2 or 3GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of internal storage. Keep in mind that 2GB version comes with 16GB of internal storage while the 3GB version ships with 32GB of internal storage. 3GB is a standard though, 2GB version is available only in select markets and it’s not really that popular. Anyhow, LG made sure you can expand that storage via MicroSD card (up to 128GB) and also that you can replace the battery if you wish to do so, the handset ships with a 3,000mAh unit. This thing is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz which comes with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics processing. On the back of the G3 you’ll find a 13-megapixel camera with laser autofocus and dual-LED flash while there’s a 2.1-megapixel snapper located on the front side of the device. LG G3 ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat with LG’s very own skin on top of it. This handset measures 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9mm while it weighs 149 grams. Android 5.0 Lollipop seems to be on the way to this handset and it should arrive in December as far as we can tell.
