Back at IFA in September, ASUS Announced their first foray into the smartwatch world with the Zenwatch. They also announced a ton of other products at their press conference in Berlin. But the Zenwatch is a nice looking square smartwatch, that we’ve liked ever since we laid eyes on it. Now we’ve gotten word from ASUS that the Zenwatch will be launching at Best Buy on November 9th – this Sunday – for just $199. Making it one of the cheapest Android Smartwatches out there. Currently the Samsung Gear Live goes for $199, the LG G Watch at $229, Moto 360 at $249 (and $299 for the metal band versions), and the LG G Watch R for $299. The ASUS Zenwatch will work with any Android powered smartphone running on Android 4.3 or above. Which is a pretty big chunk of the Android world right now.
“ASUS ZenWatch follows the tradition of fine watch craftsmanship with its stylish, detail-focused design and use of high quality materials. Its curved Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 display and case that follows the contour of the wrist, combined with a premium, stitched-leather strap with unique clasp, results in a design that is both comfortable and elegant. With a standard 22mm changeable strap and a selection of instantly-changeable watch faces, ASUS ZenWatch is easy to customize to fit anyone’s personality or sense of style.”
We haven’t gotten our hands on the ASUS ZenWatch just yet, but we should have our hands on one pretty soon and will be doing a full review as soon as we do. It’s definitely a nice looking smartwatch, much better then some other companies first smartwatch. The question is how will it perform and what about battery life. Hopefully ASUS delivers on that front as well. How many are looking to pick one up from Best Buy this weekend? Let us know in the comments below.
