Camera Shootout: Sony Xperia Z3v vs Motorola DROID Turbo

Two of the best cameras out there are found on the Sony Xperia Z3v (also the Xperia Z3) and the Motorola DROID Turbo. Both Sporting the same sensor, it makes this camera shootout even more interesting. Now one thing I want to point here, I had these two phones as review units at separate times. So that means that the pictures aren’t exactly the same. But you’ll be able to see both the Xperia Z3v, and the DROID Turbo in sunlight, low-light and indoor settings. A lot of the images from the DROID Turbo was from the time I spent in New York going to various events. Including the Verizon and Google events last week. While the Xperia Z3v shots were mostly taken here in Detroit. So they may not look as pretty. But you will be able to see the detail that the Xperia Z3v puts out.

On the camera UI, I’d say that Sony wins here. They keep it pretty minimal, but they do add in a ton of features. Motorola just keeps it minimal, with not many features at all here. Which is probably good for most people, but I definitely like the features that Sony has added into their camera app, like the Background Defocus. That’s one of my favorite modes on any camera, and unfortunately Motorola doesn’t have that…yet.

Down below we’ve got two galleries. They are both labeled so you know which is which. Head on down to the comments below and let us know which one you like better and why. I’m having a hard decision choosing which one, as they both take fantastic photos. And definitely a big upgrade for Motorola from last year and all the phones they put out before the Moto X 2013.
