Google To Release More Stock Of The Nexus 6 Every Wednesday

The Google Nexus 6 has had a bit of a shaky launch, as it hasn’t been quite that easy to get a hold of the phone in either size model variation or either color. So far the listings, even moments after the initial launch day batches were supposed to have been live on the Google Play device page, have been out of stock. The accompanying message stated the usual apology then followed it up with a statement that they are working to get more devices in stock and to check back soon. Google seems to be working on a plan to get more device batches up to the site for order in as timely a manner as possible as they have added some news to the out of stock message as of today.

Now if you head on over to the device section on Google Play and proceed to the Nexus 6 order page, Google mentions that they will be working with a goal of getting more stock up for order every single week, landing on what is probably Google’s favorite day of the work week, Wednesday. I only say favorite because Wednesday is usually the day we see all of the updates come through on Google’s apps. The message in full states: “We are getting more Nexus 6 devices in stock as soon as possible. To make things simpler for you, we will work to make more devices available each Wednesday and encourage you to visit the site then. The Nexus 6 will also be available in AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular stores later in November. Please check with your local carrier store for more information.”

We already knew that the top five mobile carriers here in the U.S would be selling the phone, as the initial announcement pages listed T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular. Google mentions everyone here but Verizon, which seems a little curious but we wouldn’t read too much into at this point. The thing to take away from all of this is that Google is going to try and get more stock up of the Nexus 6 on a weekly basis, on the same day every week so that people who are interested in picking up the phone will know when exactly to go check to see if there are any left to order. Eventually, Google will have a substantial stock and there won’t be any worry of not getting to the listing page in time before they run out.
