Huawei Ascend P8 To Launch At CES In January, Check Out The Alleged Image Of This Handset

Huawei’s Ascend P7 handset launched back in June, almost half a year passed and it seems we’re starting to get some info on its successor, Ascend P8. According to the newest report from China, this device will be unveiled at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) which is held every in January in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the source, My Drivers, Ascend P8 is undergoing some test prior to launch. The source says that the device will sport a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display with a PPI of 424. The display will be a 2.5D type, the one with the tapered off edges, and will be supplied by an unknown Taiwanese manufacturer.

The most interesting part about this rumor is the fact that Huawei allegedly plans to build this thing out of metal and that it will have a ceramic back, which is rather interesting considering the build of Huawei’s devices thus far. You can check out a leaked teaser image above this article. 16nm FinFET octa-core Kirin 930 will reportedly power on this thing, which doesn’t exactly sound as probable considering that TSMC is expected to start shipping this new FinFET silicone in the second half of 2015. We can’t exactly verify this information in any way, consider it just a rumor at this point, but we should hear more about this device soon, if it will, in fact, launch in January.

According to the source, Huawei Ascend P8 will cost 2,999 Yuan, which is approximately $489. Everything sounds good as far as this device goes, if this information pans out in the end of course. The device specs and design detail actually sound great and if Huawei manages to pack everything up as the should and end up delivering a solid product like the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 for example, many people might just to get this handset. It remains to be seen how will the device look in the end and what specifications will it carry. We’ll let you know as soon as we get more information about this handset, until then, please tell us what you think of the details we got with this rumors, would you be interested in that handset if this information turns out to be spot on?
