Joyride Podcasts Will Be Available In Cars With Android Auto

Joyride is a premium podcasting service that we’ve covered before. They previewed their podcasting service on Android Auto back at Google I/O in the summer. They are announcing that they are officially going to be available on the Android Auto platform in at least 30 car models that will have Android Auto installed. Joyride wants to change the car experience that we have on our long commutes, and anytime we are behind the wheel. They are “on a mission to change the commuter experience by making it easy for listeners to instantly discover, listen, and support podcasts they love.”

“Android Auto, a key component of Android 5.0 Lollipop, provides the foundation for an improved driving experience. As a featured Android Auto developer, we provide a safe and entertaining way to finally enjoy your daily commute, escaping the radio and enabling a world where you love everything you listen to on every ride,” said Joyride CEO and Co-Founder Jeff Chen.

Joyride is a podcast distribution platform that helps podcasters make money and gain a larger audience. They make it easy for listeners to “instantly discover, listen, and support podcasts they love.” You can get the Joyride podcast app on the Google Play Store right now. It’s already been updated to support Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it’ll be coming in Android Auto vehicles soon. The current app has voice controls and an easy-to-use layout that allows you to quickly and safely find podcasts to listen to while you’re in the car. When Joyride launches on Android Auto it’s going to have in-dash controls and be fully optimized for voice interaction. “Every day, 150 million Americans spend at least an hour in their car, if not more. Many commuters describe their driving experience as ‘soul crushing’ or ‘life sucking’. In total, that’s at least 45 billion detested hours a year behind the wheel. Joyride empowers people to love their commute by providing them with access to premium, personalized podcasts in their vehicle.” If you haven’t checked out Joyride yet, hit the Play Store link below and give it a spin. You can find more information about Joyride on their website.
