Just as I finished typing a leaked image of Meizu MX4 Pro, I got yet another MX4 Pro-related news to share with you. This time around though, we’re not talking about a rumor or a leak, but a confirmation from Meizu’s founder and CEO, Jack Wong also known as Huang Zhang in China. Mr. Wong is teasing us all via his official Weibo page. He confirmed that Meizu MX4 Pro won’t be powered by either the Samsung’s Exynos 5433 nor MediaTek’s MT6795 processor’s, but something else. He of course didn’t say which processor will power on the device, hence the teasing part I mentioned. Neither of these processors were mentioned for a long time now, but Samsung’s Exynos 5430 was mentioned quite frequently though, so I’m still confident that CPU will be MX4 Pro’s dedicated SoC. There’s of course a chance Meizu decides to go with one of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips, Snapdragon 801 or 805 perhaps, but I somehow doubt that. Exynos 5430 is still by far the most probable candidate for the job in my humble opinion. Either way, we’ll find out soon.
As far as other specifications go, we know that the device will sport a 2K display (probably manufactured by Sharp) and a fingerprint scanner below the display. Meizu confirmed both of those facts thus far, as for the rest of the specs, we presume that the mentioned display will be 5.5-inches in size and that the handset will sport 3GB of RAM. Multiple storage options will be available here and the handset will quite probably sport the same 20.7-megapixel (made by Sony) sensor we’ve seen in the original Meizu MX4. Meizu is holding an event on November 19th in China and even though the company didn’t specifically said that they’ll launch this handset there, I’m positive they will considering it was confirmed that this thing will launch this month.
Meizu MX4 is a really powerful device and a great deal overall. If you don’t mind Flyme OS, and there’s no reason why you should, Meizu MX4 is still a great buy, the handset launch only 2 months ago after all. If you’re willing to wait, however, Meizu MX4 Pro will be an even powerful handset though we expect it to be more expensive as well.
