Well we’ve been seeing leaks and rumors of a GSM variant of the DROID Turbo for quite some time now. And today, Motorola made it official. The Moto Maxx is the name and bears specs identical to the Motorola DROID Turbo on Verizon that was announced last week. So you still have the 3900mAH battery, 21mp camera (which is a fantastic camera by the way) 5.2-inch display, and the Snapdragon 805 processor. This thing is really a beast. And I’ve been using the DROID Turbo for a little over a week and love it. It’s great to see that people in other countries will get to experience it as well.
Long lasting, fast charging
With Moto Maxx, you can go up to two days* without limits thanks to the long-lasting, fast-charging 3900 mAh battery – the largest battery of any smartphone. When it’s time to charge, get a quick burst of battery life when you need it most. The Motorola Turbo Charger included in box provides up to eight hours of power in just 15 quick minutes of charging.**
Accelerated performance
Moto Maxx is designed to outperform your expectations with the newest and most powerful features. Use the 21-megapixel camera to capture stunning pictures and movie-quality 4K video, and play it back on the 5.2-inch Quad HD display, the sharpest display of any smartphone with 565 ppi. The newest and most powerful Qualcomm® Snapdragonâ„¢ quad core processor gives you all the performance you need – and then some. It also uses the latest 4G LTE technology, so you can experience faster download and upload speeds. Plus, you get a huge 64GB of storage, perfect for your collections of music, movies, books and games.
Enduring protection
On the outside, Moto Maxx is designed with premium ballistic nylon, a first for the industry. It’s a high-quality, durable material with a distinctive texture and rich color – you might recognize it from outdoor gear, like backpacks. Under that, is a layer of DuPont Kevlar® fiber, a material that is five times stronger than steel. Moto Maxx is protected inside and out with water-repellent nano-coating and then topped with Corning Gorilla Glass.
So what about pricing and availability? Well unfortunately we won’t be seeing it here in the US. And you can probably put that on Verizon and not Motorola. But the Moto Maxx will be available on motorola.com starting today in Brazil and coming mid-November in Mexico. Moto Maxx will come to additional Latin American countries soon.
