The Official PayPal App Is Now Available for Pebble Smartwatch Owners

PayPal seems to be everywhere and everyday it seems that more and more places are accepting PayPal as payment for services rendered.  The more mobile the world becomes, it seems as though PayPal is making more and more sense – as long as they can maintain their security.  No longer do we have to give out our credit card number or bank account number in order to make a payment…we simply sign in to our PayPal account to authorize a payment.  PayPal even issues a debit MasterCard that will suck the funds right out of your account and even pay you cash back each month on your purchases.  Some small business owners even pay their employees via PayPal and then you can spend it with your debit card, get cash from an ATM or even have PayPal transfer the funds to your bank account (that normally takes 2-3 days).

PayPal keeps churning out the mobile apps and today they are proud to announce a new PayPal app for the Pebblers and their Pebble Smartwatches.  With the addition of the Pebble app, PayPal is now available across the wearable platforms – Android Wear devices, such as Samsung Gear Live and the LG G Watch – and Samsung’s Gear 2, Gear S and Gear Fit.  PayPal is trying to make it easy as possible from smartwatch users to pay at their local stores right from you Pebble smartwatch, rather than pulling out your physical wallet.

PayPal wants us to walk into a store, place an order and pay, without ever having to reach in your pocket for either a wallet or a smartphone…just use your Pebble.  Pebblers can now check-in to pay or pay with a payment code at numerous retailers, restaurants and other local businesses that accept PayPal and can even receive payment notifications through your Pebble without ever taking out your smartphone.  Pebble was originally a KickStarter project funded by the public that sent in money and just a few years later the second generation Pebble Steel has arrived – still not as sophisticated as most other smartwatches, but it gets the job done for many people – the Pebblers are a strong and proud group and now they can add PayPal to their list of options. Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you have started to use PayPal on your Pebble smartwatch…as always, we would love to hear from all you Pebblers.
