There are many features which set markets apart. For instance, Dual-SIM smartphones are extremely popular in India but not so much in the US or Europe. That said, universally there has not seen to have been much demand for a dual-SIM tablet in any market. However, maybe this lack-of-demand is just simply a result of the lack of dual-SIM tablets being offered by manufacturers Either way, it seems ZTE are about to test the waters with their dual-SIM tablet.
At present there is no real confirmation of this from ZTE. That said, a device has just passed through the FCC and has been approved by the certification commission. As a result and typically when a device passes through the FCC like this, it is only a matter of time before the device arrives at US shores. In terms of specs, very little is known at the moment but the device seems to be going under the ZTE K70 title. According to reports the most likely specs for the K70 will include a 7″ (maybe 7.5″) screen with a probable 1280 x 720 resolution. This means the device will be a compact or smaller tablet. The device has support for WCDMA, GSM and WiFi connectivity. The FCC listing also suggests the K70 will come running out of the box on Android 4.4 (KitKat). From the images provided on the FCC listing (and shown below) you can also see the K70 seems to come with a front and rear facing camera, rear speaker and plastic volume buttons. Internal images are listed on the FCC but cannot seem to be accessed at the moment and as such we have little details on what’s on offer inside. That said, it is probably quite likely that we are looking at a Snapdragon 400 (or similar) and certainly somewhere in the region of 1/2GB RAM. All this suggests the K70 will be a low-mid range spec device. In terms of the price the rumors being touted are suggesting the K70 will be available for under $200.
