Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Concepts Shown Off in New Video

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is barely out of the gate and it is still a few months away from the release of what will be the new Galaxy S6, so that must mean it is time to start showing off CONCEPT designs.  I capitalized concept, because you must understand that these pictures and video are NOT sanctioned by Samsung – they are simply a designer’s concept of what they think the phone may look at…Jermaine Smit is the designer in this instance.  We will see many of these concept designs between now and when the devices actually launch, and yes, we will be reporting on all of them.  I often wonder if Samsung ever looks at any of these designs, as some have really been gorgeous.

This time around, Jermaine, took the time to create a video of his concepts and you can watch that below – what I find really odd about these designs are the names – Samsung Galaxy S6 (no problems with that one) and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge…we have seen a Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note Edge series from Samsung, but no Galaxy S6 Edge, especially when there is only a slight ‘edge’ per say, it simply looks like a larger version of the Galaxy S6, in fact the current Galaxy Note Edge’s display looks larger.

Jermaine was nice enough to give us his thoughts on the type of hardware we may be treated to in his concepts.  For starters, we are looking at 20 megapixels for the main camera – with Samsung’s ISOCELL technology (for better low-light pictures), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a dual-tone LED flash, it will handle 1080p at 120fps (frames per second) and 4K video.  They will have a removable back made from a soft textured material, exposing a removable 2980mAh battery that will have the quick charge capability of a half-charge in 20 minutes and a full charge in an hour.  There was no mention of a display size, however, it would be a 2K, or QHD with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and the Super AMOLED variety with 554 pixels-per-inch (PPI).

Please hook up with us on our Google+ Page and let us know what you think of Jermaine’s concept…as always, we would love to hear from you.
