Sony's Xperia Z4 And Z4 Ultra Could Launch at CES With Snapdragon 805 and 4GB Of RAM

Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to launch at CES in January. Expectations are rather high for Sony’s upcoming flagship considering the company has announced that they’re turning their focus to the high-end market due to constant losses as far as smartphone sales go. Anyhow, we’ve already seen some rumors when it comes to this handset, as well as some other devices which Sony has up its sleeve (Z4 Ultra, Z4 Compact and Z4 Tablet). This time around we get a new batch of rumors as Phone Arena received a tip from an unnamed source which reveals a ton of information when it comes to Xperia Z4 and Z4 Ultra.

The tip says that the Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4 Ultra will indeed get unveiled at CES in Las Vegas on January 5th. Xperia Z4 will allegedly sport a 5.4-inch Quad HD Triluminious display, unlike the 5.5-inch panel that was rumored before. It seems like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 won’t be a part of this device though, as was rumored before, Sony will opt for a Snapdragon 805 instead. We could have guessed that though, considering the January launch date and the fact that Sony doesn’t always go for the newest chips around, but rather opts for something that is proven on the market and easy to get. This doesn’t have to be a bad thing, not at all, we all know what a beast Snapdragon 805 is. The tipster also said that the device will sport 4GB of RAM, as it was rumored before. The device will allegedly run Android 5.0 Lollipop, which would let it take advantage of that 4GB of RAM, though that might be an overkill on Sony’s side. Either way, I guess you can never have enough RAM, so, why not, right?

When it comes to Xperia Z4’s camera sensor, 20.7-megapixel is a safe bet, not only according to the tipster but by common sense. This 20.7-megapixel camera won’t be the same Sony used in Z3 though, this will be a new and improved sensor by Sony which will have two more elements for collecting more light, quite probably the IMX230 Sony unveiled recently. 4.8-megapixel sensor will allegedly be located on the front of the device, wide-angle view lens should help out with your selfies and what not. As far as battery is concerned, Sony will opt for a 3420mAh battery, which should be a more than enough to last you through the day and knowing Sony, the battery life will be great. As far as the design goes, this handset will allegedly have a thinner top and bottom bezels and a rounder corners, but you’ll still get that Sony Xperia design.

Xperia Z4 Ultra was also mentioned by this tipster and according to the info he provided, this phablet will sport a 5.9-inch Triluminous display, not the 6.4-inch screen that was rumored earlier. Snapdragon 805 SoC and 4GB of RAM will be a part of this device as well. 16-megapixel camera with dual LED flash will be located at the back of this handset and the device itself will allegedly sport an extremely thin chassis, only 5.7mm thick.

There you have it. According to this info, both of these devices will be beastly products by Sony. I’m a bit skeptical when it comes to the RAM amount this tip has shared, it seems kind of unreal, but every rumors thus far has pointed at 4GB of RAM, so… who am I to question in. Anyhow, CES is only about 6 weeks away, though I’m sure we’ll get more information before then.
