10. HP Chromebook 11
HP and Google’s joint venture with the Chromebook 11 is an excellent small travel companion, especially if you want something with great viewing angles. The IPS panel here is good, it charges over microUSB, reducing your need for multiple chargers and while that ARM processor under the hood is one of the slowest in a Chromebook it gets the job done. Good value for money, this small 11.6-inch Chromebook is one of the better options for traveling.
09. ASUS C200
If you’re perfectly okay with an 11.6-inch display and you’re looking for something small, portable but with a little extra then the C200 from ASUS is a decent option. It’s not the best Chromebook to launch recently, but it features a larger trackpad, an Intel CPU for good performance and it’s pretty affordable. Available in either 2GB or 4GB versions, the C200 is a pretty standard affair, but ASUS know what they’re doing when it comes to building quality laptop hardware.

08. Chromebook Pixel
What’s tragic about the Chromebook Pixel, and perhaps Chromebooks in general, is that while the Pixel is quite old now (in computing terms), it’s still one of the best Chromebooks out there, and yet it’s still crazy expensive. Sure, if you want a device that is fantastic for browsing the web and doing what you do online, then the Pixel is unrivaled. However, is it worth that massive price tag? For a lot of people, probably not.
07. ASUS C300
The larger version of the ASUS C200 is a rare 13.3-inch option, and while it’s definitely a more versatile machine, that Bay Trail CPU does hold things back somewhat. Battery life is pretty good and as we’ve come to expect from ASUS, the trackpad and keyboard are both really quite good. If you’d like a nice “inbetween” machine, then the C300 is a decent option, but it is a little on the pricey side for what you’re getting.

06. Acer C720 and C720p
The Acer C720 and C720p are basically the same machine, with the ‘P’ gaining a touchscreen, for some reason. I owned a C720 and found it to be an excellent machine, especially if you want something that’s portable like many others, but is still comfortable enough to use for longer periods of time. The display needs a little work, but the performance is all there and it’s a great example of what can be done without the need for a hefty price tag.

05. Samsung Chromebook 2
If you enjoyed the original Samsung Chromebook, but thought that Samsung could do better if they shook off the pricing constraints then the Chromebook 2 is what you were waiting for. Available in either 13 or 11.6-inch models, the Chromebook 2 is a classy-looking machine. The ARM Processor here is a newer, more Samsung-focused chip and delivers much better performance. With good keyboards and the 1080p display on the 13-inch machine showing off what Samsung does best, the Chromebook 2 is a great choice.

04. Acer CB5
The Acer CB5 has an impressive spec sheet, powered by the Tegra K1 from NVIDIA that’s inside the new Nexus 9, this is a great machine for media, thanks to the 1080p 13-inch display, too. However good it might be on paper though, Acer had to make some sacrifices to reach those enticing price points and on the whole the CB5 feels cheaper than it ought to and it’s certainly not all that good-looking a unit. Still, it’s got a decent ARM processor under the hood and a high-resolution display.

03. HP Chromebook 14
My personal favorite, I use an HP Chromebook 14 every day, pretty much all day to do my job. While the Chromebook 14 is big, and it’s fairly heavy, this is the best laptop I’ve ever owned. The keyboard is great, the build is good and it’s available in a range of different colors. While the 14-inch display is only 1366 x 768, which is disappointing, the overall picture is good. By no means perfect, the Chromebook 14 is a great option for those looking for a big machine that runs a lightweight system.

02. Acer C720 (Core i3 Version)
If all you wanted in a Chromebook was speed and performance, then the i3 Version of the Acer C720 is what you’re in need of. It’s the same device as the C720, but under the hood there’s a Core i3 CPU which makes this the fastest Chromebook available. Other than that though, there’s not much else going for this guy, which is a shame. With all that speed it would have been nice to see a better display, but alas this is the same 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display from the original C720.

01. Toshiba Chromebook 2
Toshiba’s first attempt at a Chromebook was decent, but nothing inspiring. This time around though, they’ve created one of the best options for those looking for a true laptop, that just so happens to be a Chromebook. With 4GB of RAM, a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS Display and an Intel CPU, this is a Full HD Chromebook that gets pretty much everything mostly right. The display is great, performance is good and it even sounds good as well. An altogether great option, this is well worth taking a look at. Especially if you want something in between a Pixel and a low-end 11.6-incher, without breaking the bank.
