Action games delight us in a whole different way than other games. They’re filled with intense fire fights, sometimes there’s loads of explosions, and the gameplay is usually a little more fast paced, filled with tons of… action. Hence the genre. While there are heaps of action games on Android and many amazing gales that came out this year, we had to narrow it down, so here’s our picks, including best action game of the year.
Winner – Republique
When it comes to action titles, you may not typically think of stealth action games, but that’s just what Republique is, and its loaded with stealth action gameplay that will have you tapping into government surveillance systems, sneaking around corners and doing your best to help the game’s main character, Hope, avoid being caught by her oppressors in a government controlled totalitarian state. Republique is an episodic series of games, so there will tons of gameplay throughout the series, and you might be familiar with this type of gameplay from titles like The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead from Telltale games. Right now Republique Ep. 1 is available, with other episodes being released sometime next year and forward. In addition to the stealth action, Republique gives you strategic choices to make which can affect the outcome of the game, and there are tons of puzzles to solve. Controls are easy to with simple one-touch gameplay, and you can even buy developer commentary through an IAP.(Not required but kind of a cool add-on for those that like that sort of thing)If there is one Action game on Android you would buy this year, Repbulique should be it.
