Fleksy Unleashes Update Version 5.0 With Material Design UI, Keyboard Extensions, And New Themes

Fleksy Keyboard is constantly making things better and improving their third party keyboard application so users can have a better typing experience on Android, and the latest update has just been released for users bringing in a whole bunch of new changes. I have been using this update through the Fleksy Beta program for the past week, and I must say it’s quite amazing. This is the biggest update for Fleksy to date, bringing in design changes, new features and a handful of new themes for the keyboard. Fleksy has always been about fast and accurate typing, and that doesn’t go away in their latest update, but it’s safe to say that this update is more about design then anything else.

First and foremost, you’ll notice a huge set of design changes in the new version of Fleksy as they have implemented their Material Design UI inside of the app. When you open it up you’ll see tabs for the themes, extensions and the size of the keyboard, with the slide out menu on the left housing all of your options like personalization, badges, dictionary, tutorial and more. New with themes is not just the themes themselves, but you can also preview each and every theme now so you know exactly what the theme will look like before you purchase and apply it. There are a few awesome new themes that emulate the Material Design color and style, and my personal favorite is the all new Chameleon theme which changes to match the color of the app. It’s truly an awesome looking keyboard theme. There also a few customized and branded themes like Frozen and The Hunger Games too, and more will follow in future updates.

When it comes to the extensions, there are a handful of new keyboard addons you can implement like the number row, editor, shortcuts, and my personal favorite, the GIF extension which lets you insert GIF’s quickly and easily straight from the keyboard via the emoji button. Other extensions include the invisible keyboard, rainbow pops which gives you a new pop of color over each key press, and the launcher extension which lets you turn Fleksy into a launcher, letting you navigate and launch your most frequently used apps right from the keyboard as the icons hover above the top row. Users get three extension slots with which to apply the 7 available extensions. This is a huge, huge update with lots of new customization, and of course the standard bug fixes and improvements to make Fleksy even better. If you haven’t checked out Fleksy keyboard yet, now is definitely the best time so far to get started with all these new goodies at your fingertips.
