Samsung is having some issues keeping their profit up at the moment, the competition is fierce and has pushed world’s number one smartphone OEM to change its approach to the smartphone market. They decided to cut back on the amount of device sub-brands they produce and change their design approach somewhat, it remains to be seen if that will have any effect in the long term. We’re not here to talk about that though, but about new smartphones Samsung is getting ready to launch.
Samsung will soon launch three new devices in South Korea, two of which we’ve already heard of and know basically everything there is to know about them, but the third one is new. The company will launch their Galaxy A5 and A7 offerings which we’ve already covered at length, and a Galaxy Grand Max (SM-G720No) handset which is new. According to a leak (images below), this smartphone will feature a 5.2-inch 720p (1280 x 720) TFT LCD display along with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 64GB). This device will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, though the leak doesn’t mention which brand manufactured that chip. Considering the clock rate and Samsung’s already announced devices, we’re talking about Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC here. 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of the Galaxy Grand Max, while a 5-megapixel shooter will be available on the front. This handset will be only 7.9mm thin and will ship with a 2,500mAh battery. Android 4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it, of course. The model that leaked will be compatible with LTE and DMB networks.
The Galaxy A7 will arrive in three variants according to the leak; SM-A700S, SM-A700K and SM-A700L. This handset will sport a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 SoC, a 64-bit processor. 13 and 5-megapixel cameras will be available on the Galaxy A7 and the device will ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and a 2,500mAh battery. This device will be compatible with LTE, VoLTE and DMB networks and it is only 6.3 thick.
