Give Your Pictures Some Throwback Feel With The Polaroid Socialmatic 14MP WiFi Camera

A picture is worth a thousand words. That statement is as true today as it was the first time it was ever spoken,(we have no idea when that might be, so don’t ask)and we as photo loving individuals live up to it by the amount of pictures some of us might take in a given day. This is partly because we love taking pictures and we want to remember those fond memories of amazing, epic, loving and touching moments. What’s one of the best things about pictures though? Sharing them with others, and that’s the other half of it. In the last 10 years photos have become much more social than ever with the rise and boom of social networks, and the ways we can take pictures just gets easier and better every year. With digital cameras and smartphones equipped with some amazing image sensors, there’s almost no need for traditional print photos, but should you have wanted them the fastest way to receive them was always with a Polaroid as the camera would snap the picture and then print it right there in front of you.

Back in the beginning of the year Polaroid announced that it would be coming out with an Android powered camera that would be available towards the end of the year, and had the ability to upload your photos to the web via WiFi, called the Socialmatic. This is a Polaroid product after all though, so the traditional print style images would still pop out like Polaroid cameras from day’s past. It’s now the last month of 2014 and Polaroid’s Socialmatic 14MP, Android powered WiFi camera is now available and you can grab it on Amazon for about $299 in white or black.

While it’s great to have a Polaroid that’s versatile enough to also allow WiFi uploading, the Socialmatic being Android powered means more than just being Android based. It’s running a full version of Android,(the images on Amazon look like Jelly Bean but it doesn’t specify)with the capability to install apps, and images can be shared to all your favorite social sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and more. it also has a 4.5-inch touchscreen on the back for interacting with apps, and it has 4GB of internal storage space with a microSD card slot. If you’re in the market for a Polaroid for instant photo printing, this would be the Polaroid to get.
