Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was announced back at IFA in Berlin, which took place back in September. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 handset definitely took the spotlight at that event, but the Note Edge surprised many people. This is one of those test devices Samsung likes to release from time to time and see how well will they sell and how will consumers react to them. This smartphone comes with all the software features the Note 4 has, along with the S Pen stylus, but it also has some of its own tricks. This handset comes with a curved “Edge” screen on the side, which makes it completely unique and quite frankly awkward to hold at first. That screen acts as a separate panel in a way, it offers a separate set of functionality, depending on what you use on the phone’s main screen.
Back in October, 24-karat Samsung Galaxy Note 4 appeared in Vietnam, well, if that’s not for you, perhaps the gold-plated Note Edge is more up your ally. This handset just appeared on some images taken in Vietnam, though it hasn’t been officially announced at this point. We still don’t know how much will it cost either, but it is expected to be close to $2000, which is the price of the gold-plated Galaxy Note 4 phablet. The trim of the phone isn’t the only thing that’s plated with gold though, the home button and the camera also sport a gold-plated trim around them.
Galaxy Note 4 Edge features a 5.6-inch 2K (2560 x 1600) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 128GB). This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.7GHz which comes with an Adreno 420 GPU. 16-megapixel OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) camera is located at the back of the device while there’s a 3.7-megapixel shooter included up front. The device measures 151.3 x 82.4 x 8.3mm and weighs 174 grams. Android 4.4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device with Samsung’s Revolving UX on top of it. 3000mAh battery comes with this device and it should make sure you don’t run out of juice before the day is over.
