Were you one of the lucky ones that purchased the new Google Nexus 9, but have been waiting for a nice cover…the wait is over, almost. Retail box stores, Best Buy and Future Shop are taking pre-orders for new Nexus 9 covers that note “”this product is scheduled to arrive in our warehouse on 01/31/2015.” Google Play Canada is also stocking these accessories, but they are just as bad with their favorite expression, “coming soon.” Not a great Christmas present, but an I.O.U. might be in order for a friend or family member that was hoping to find one under their tree on December 25th.
Both stores are offering the same cases for the same amount of money. The top of the line case is called the Folio Case and it comes in only black and will cost you $129.99. For your money, you get both protection for your Nexus 9 and a built-in, full-size QWERTY mechanical keyboard for typing longer emails or documents. It pairs wirelessly to your Nexus 9 and you can get up to five months’ worth of use on a single charge. The Folio Case attaches magnetically and is designed to easily fold to watch movies or look at photos.
The other case being offered is called the Nexus 9 Magic Case Cover and it comes in four colors – Black, Indigo, Amethyst and Lime Stone – and will cost you $44.99. The Magic Case Cover is designed to protect the Nexus 9, and also attaches magnetically to protect the glass display from scratches. It has a flip corner you can lift to activate the camera so you can take pictures with the cover still on the device. The Magic Case Cover and be folded to allow the tablet to be angled for watching movies, videos, photos, etc. I have never understood why accessories are so late in coming out – manufacturers should have these ready to sell the same day the device is released. Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you are waiting to cover your Nexus 9 tablet and were hoping to do it before Christmas…as always, we would love to hear from you.
