Round about this time every year, rumors start to emerge about what might be coming in the first few months of the next year. This is because CES is fast approaching in January and the big OEMs will have the first chance of the year to tout their new items. One of those who will certainly be at CES is Samsung. The South Korean tech giant will be making an appearance and touting their latest Samsung Galaxy S addition, the Samsung Galaxy S6. That said, there is the other South Korean tech giant, LG and we are starting to hear some very interesting rumors about their latest offering.
There is no doubt that the Galaxy Note range of devices is one of the most popular Samsung range of devices. People (against initial impressions) have greatly warmed to the idea of a large phablet device which comes with an additional interactive pen. Since, the Note’s success, other companies have tried to replicate the results but have generally failed. Well, the latest rumor is that LG might be looking to take on Samsung in the phablet and pen markets. It was reported a couple of weeks ago that LG are working on a pen, similar to Samsung’s ‘S-Pen’. The suggestions were that LG’s pen was being dubbed the ‘G-Pen’. However, at the time there was no further details on what the pen would be used for or come with. Well, the latest emerging from Asia sources is that the G-Pen will come with an LG device looking to directly rival the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Unfortunately, at the moment the details are a little sketchy with no real clear view of what the device will be. The source article (source link below) mentions the expected LG G4 might be the one that comes with the newly added G-Pen. Although, the article also suggests a device by the name of the LG Scrawl which will also come with the LG G-Pen software. If the LG G4 does come with the G-Pen this it will be a real contender to the Note 4 and especially when you look at the rumored specs which include a 5.3″ display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Inside the LG G4 is rumored to come with 4GB RAM and a Snapdragon 810 64 bit Processor. The device is also expected to come with a 20.7MP rear camera, a 3500mAh battery and of course running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). So what do you think of the idea of LG bringing out a rival device (and pen) to the Note 4? Let us know.
