Meizu Blue Charm Photos And Pricing Leaks Hinting At A Range Of Color Options

Meizu has had an extremely successful year thus far. The company has been selling their MX4 and MX4 Pro handsets like hotcakes ever since each of them launched. The MX4 was launched back in September and the MX4 Pro arrived last month. Both of these handsets are high-end offerings by Meizu and it was just a matter of time before the company steps into an even more affordable space an offers something… well, extremely compelling and affordable. This Chinese OEM has teased us several times over the last few weeks regarding the launch of their affordable smartphone(s) and the date they will see the light of they, until a few days ago when Meizu announced that the event will take place on December 23rd.

We’ve seen plenty of leaks thus far, mentioning both the Blue Charm and Blue Charm Note handsets which are supposed to go head-to-head with Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S and Redmi Note handsets in China. Both of these handsets are expected to sport similar specs, except for the screen size, Blue Charm Note is expected to feature a 5.5-inch panel. According to a GFXBench listing which leaked recently, Meizu K52 (Blue Charm’s codename) will sport a 4.6-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16GB of internal storage. A 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz will power on this device along with Mali T760 GPU. On the back of this device you’ll be able to find a 13-megapixel camera and this will quite probably be a dual-SIM capable handset.

Some new material which regards both of these devices leaked. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice 5 different colors of what I presume is the Blue Charm handset, green, yellow, blue, white and red. This handset actually resembles the iPhone 5C a whole lot from the back, colors only increase that effect. The second image is supposed to be either the Blue Charm or a Blue Charm Note handsets, though the camera and flash placement on that handset differs from the first image a whole lot, who knows, perhaps Meizu is trying to tease their handset using the iPhone 5C shells or something to that effect. The third image is allegedly a Meizu’s presentation material which reveals the pricing of these handsets, according to the slide, Blue Charm will cost 799 Yuan ($129) and its bigger brother will be priced at 999 Yuan ($162). Taking Meizu VP’s earlier comments into consideration, I doubt Blue Charm will be priced so low, but who knows. And the last image you can check out in the gallery down below reveals the alleged packaging of this handset / these handsets.

If Meizu actually manages to price this handset / these handsets so low and keep the spec sheet listed above, they will sell a ton of these devices. Anyhow, December 23rd is the date, which is less than 10 days away, so stay tuned.
