Meizu will announce their new Blue Charm line on December 23rd. The company is expected to unveil Blue Charm and Blue Charm Note smartphones, even though some additional devices were mentioned as well. Blue Charm routers, TV set, smartwatch… all of these were mentioned in the latest leaks from China, but it seems we won’t see those launched on December 23rd. Meizu’s CEO, Bai Yongxiang, got interviewed in China and even though he didn’t directly say what we’ll see launched on December 23rd, he did hint at Q2 2015 as the possible launch for those handsets.
These Meizu executives are extremely vague when interviewed. Mr. Yongxiang did, however, say once again that these are devices for “young people”, even though that sounds really weird. He also added that they will try to price those device as low as possible and has hinted that they’ll be priced between 1,000 and 1,499 Yuan ($161-241), which is more than appropriate in my humble opinion. Meizu’s CEO also talked about the production line for their devices as well as their Flyme OS. We’ve already covered these areas in the past, but it is worth mentioning that they solved every production issue according to Mr. Yongxiang and that they have a lot of plans for Flyme, he claims that the OS will become even better soon.
We expect Meizu Blue Charm and Blue Charm Note to launch on December 23rd. The only difference between these two handset is their screen size, the Blue Charm will reportedly sport either the 4.6 or a 4.7-inch 1080p display, while the Blue Charm Note will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch 1080p panel. Both of these handsets will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core SoC and will ship with 2GB of built-in RAM. 16GB of internal storage will also ship with this device and Mali T760 GPU will be in charge of graphics. 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this handset and you can expect a 2-megapixel snapper to be available on the front of the phone. Both of these devices will come in a range of color options, like Orange, Blue, White, Green, Yellow… it remains to be seen in how many colors will Meizu offer these devices.
