Meizu is all over the news lately. The company has launched their newest flagship, MX4 Pro, last month, and the handset has been selling extremely well thus far. I believe the demand even exceeded Meizu’s expectation, considering they decided to launch this thing only two and a half months after the launch of the original MX4 handset. Anyhow, Meizu’s VP, Li Nan, announced that the company will launch an extremely affordable handset for “young people” soon and the company has teased its launch yesterday. To cut the long story short, this handset will launch on December 11th, which is only 2 days away, and we have some new leaks to share with you before that happens.
Three new images leaked which allegedly show off Meizu’s upcoming affordable handset. The last two images show off its back panel, which seems to be made out of plastic, which was to be expected of course. If you take a look at the first image down below, you’ll see what seems to be the front side of the device. We’re quite probably talking about Meizu K52 here, the device which popped up on GFX Bench benchmarks a while back. So, what about the specs? Well, if this is in fact the K52, then it will sport a 4.6-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6752, 64-bit octa-core chip is said to be powering this handset while Mali T760 GPU will take care of graphics rendering here.
On top of all this, the handset will reportedly cost only 799 Yuan ($130), which is just insane. You get a really solid specifications here for that price, a 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and a 64-bit octa-core processor for only 799 Yuan ($130)? Well, it sounds somewhat hard to believe if you ask me, but who knows, we’ll see. The 1000-1300 Yuan ($162-210) price is also possible though, that was the price that was rumored previously. Anyone excited about this device? Well, Chinese consumers should be, this is a really great price point, no matter which way you spin it. December 11th is the date, stay tuned.
