Meizu's Upcoming Low-Cost Handset Will Allegedly Cost Only 799 Yuan, Its Chassis Leaks As Well

Meizu has announced company’s newest flagship, Meizu MX4 Pro, last month. The flagship has been pre-ordered over 6.7 million times and Meizu basically sold out the device as soon as it launched. It seems like Meizu hit a home run yet again, just like they did with the original MX4. Flagships aside, Meizu’s low-cost mid-range handset has been rumored for a long time now. We’ve heard all sorts of rumors and seen all sorts of leaks when it comes to this device, but 2 days ago, Meizu’s VP, Li Nan, has finally revealed that the company will announce the device on December 8th, which is today actually. Well, the company still hasn’t announced the thing, but we do have some additional pre-launch information to share with you.

First and foremost, the rumors say that the device will cost 799 Yuan and not the rumored 1000-1300 Yuan, which is great considering this device will be extremely affordable this way. That’s not all though, if you take a look at the gallery below this article you’ll notice an alleged chassis of this device compared to the Lumia 1020 and Xiaomi Redmi 1S handsets. For some reason the chassis images have Ubuntu watermarking on them even though the source claims this is the device that will launch today, so we’re going to assume the source is right. The bezels on the sides seem extremely thin and I’m really wondering what will this device look like in the end, are we looking at a miniature version of the MX4? Anyhow, we’ve seen a mysterious Meizu K52 device leak on GFXBench recently and its specifications definitely fit the bill here, this handset is probably the handset Meizu will announce today, so let’s take a look at its leaked specifications.

The Meizu K52 handset will feature a 4.6-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking and 16GB of internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz will power on this thing and Mali T760 GPU will take care of graphics rendering. Unfortunately, we don’t have more information when it comes to this handset, but Meizu will announce it today, so we’ll find out everything we need to know rather soon. Anyhow, are you excited? Is this something that might interest you? The device certainly does pack some great specifications considering the price, presuming these GFXBench specifications are the ones we’ll see implemented in the device, of course.
