LG had a great year, their smartphone sales are going great and their profits are way up. LG released some compelling devices this year and improved in basically every way, though there’s still much room for improvement in my humble opinion. LG G3 is a great handset and is completely unique, which is what LG was aiming for I bet, I’m really looking forward to see what LG has up their sleeve for the G4 launch. I do believe that LG has to further differentiate from Samsung though, I was somewhat disappointed when I saw their G Pen trademark filing earlier this month, that name screams “S Pen”, which is just disappointing to me. Either way, that’s something we have to come to peace with as far as LG goes, at least for the time being.
The newly leaked image from China reveals the look of the G Pen, or at least that’s what they want us to believe. If you take a look at the image above the article you’ll notice the look of the G Pen, though I really hope this leak is fake because that thing looks like a regular stylus with a LG logo on it. The tip of the stylus is completely regular and thick, which doesn’t exactly look great and I don’t see how could this offer an extra layer of productivity, but we’ll see. This image is not the only thing that this leak brought though, we also get an alleged G4 specs as well.
According to the source, the LG G4 will feature a 5.3-inch QuadHD display along with a whopping 4GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card). Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC, a 64-bit octa-core chip is expected to power on this thing along with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics rendering. 20.7-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this thing according to this leak and it will offer OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). 3,500mAh battery is expected to ship with this device and a metallic frame is also mentioned.
This leak is certainly interesting and we’ll see how true it is once LG unveils their newest flagship, but I really doubt this is the G Pen, it just looks way too ordinary. The specifications of the G4, on the other hand, are great, but it remains to be seen how legit this leak is. Anyhow, what are your thoughts?
