It’s hard to forget a device like the LG G Flex. It was first of its kind smartphone with a curved body design and curved display, a massive one at that, before more and more smartphone OEM’s began to venture into the bigger than big smartphone display market. Whether or not you loved or hated the G Flex, it was apparently a well enough seller to warrant LG making another of its kind, and the rumors are stating that it could be heading for the Consumer Electronics Show at the beginning of next month for an unveiling. If it does get announced at CES 2015, there aren’t any details just yet about when it will actually launch, where it will be sold and who will carry it, or what customers will end up having to pay for it if they want to get their hands on one.
That information will likely be put out for the masses once LG officially announces the handset though, so we could be finding all of that out then. The information could be leaked before then too of course. Besides rumors of the device showing up at CES, the sources claim the G Flex 2 will be a huge upgrade from the original model, so we can only imagine it will have possibly a snapdragon 810 or maybe just an updated snapdragon 805, as well as a higher screen resolution than the original G Flex, perhaps 2k?
As far as launch details go as we stated, there is no word on that yet but if we go by the launch date of the G Flex, which was in October of 2013, it’s possible that LG could be looking at the same time frame for launch with the G Flex 2. Although if that was the case it would seem rather odd to announce the phone some 9-10 months ahead of the launch date. We can probably expect to see the self healing back make a return as that was one of the defining features of the LG G Flex, and we wouldn’t be surprised if LG stuck with the rear placement of the volume rocker and power button either. Would you be interested in the G Flex 2, or does that decision have to wait until we know more official details and see the device?
