Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Spotted In Store In India With Possible Launch Soon

Back in October it was reported a new Samsung device has accidentally been uploaded to the Indian retailer Flipkart’s website. This was the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. At the time, the only known information about the device was (given its name) that it was part of the Prime sub family and also (due to its mistaken listing) the specs. We did not know how much the device would cost or where it would eventually land. Being that Flipkart is an Indian retailer, it obviously was expected to land in India but outside of this region, little was known.

Well, today it is clear the device will be available in india as it has now gone on sale. It is not clear if the Core Prime has gone official sale but that said, the device has been snapped (as you can see below) on the store shelves. Before today, the biggest unknown about the Core Prime was the cost of the device. If the reports are accurate then the device is listed with an MRP of Rs 11,300 and a MOP (Manufacturers Operating Price) of Rs 9,599 which is roughly $155. In terms of the specs, the Core Prime comes with a 4.5″ display with an 800 x 480 resolution. Inside the device comes with 1GB RAM and a 1.2 GHz quad core processor. The device also comes with 8GB internal memory while there is also an expandable microSD card slot with a maximum capacity of 64GB. In terms of cameras, the Core Prime comes with a 5MP rear shooter and a 2MP front facing camera. Additional features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and a 2000mAh battery. The Core Prime will come running on Android 4.4 (KitKat).

As mentioned, there is no word on whether today marks the official launch of the Core Prime in India. Although as the device is spotted in-store, it can’t be too long before the actual launch is underway. For those outside India who might be interested in the core Prime, it was reported only last week that the device has passed through the FCC with a likely destination being Boost Mobile. Either way, it seems safe to assume the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime is landing. Anyone going to pick one up in India or the US?
